Following up on the GTFS for the Rest of Us convening in November 2013 that challenged the notion that fixed route mapping was only for conventional transit, TransitCenter along with MIT Civic Design Lab, Columbia’s Center for Sustainable Development, the World Bank, REEEP, and the Organization of American States reconvened the open transit data community in January 2014 at “GTFS in the World” to discuss priorities of the open transit data community. Participants heard about the challenges and promise of open data and explored the feasibility of scaling their innovative methods. Stay tuned to the TransitCenter blog for any updates on developments in this arena.
