Operators in Crisis: Strategies for Hiring & Retaining Transit Workers
Click here to watch a recording of the event
TransitCenter’s recent Bus Operators in Crisis report chronicles how the declining job quality of bus operators has made it difficult for agencies to recruit and retain a stable workforce. This has resulted in a national shortfall that is affecting agencies’ ability to deliver scheduled service – much less expand service.
Solving the crisis will require a coordinated effort amongst transit agencies, state governments, and the federal government. It will also require innovative approaches. Join TransitCenter for a conversation that explores how multiple levels of government can ensure that agencies have the resources and incentives necessary to implement solutions that improve job quality and hiring processes. We’ll also hear from representatives in labor and government about current campaigns and tactics that can get agencies back on track.
