Welcome Jerome Horne, TransitCenter’s New Director of Transit Leadership Development

We are excited to announce that Jerome Horne is joining TransitCenter as Director of Transit Leadership Development. Jerome is taking on a new position at our organization to support and connect leaders in the transit field, strengthening our efforts to cultivate inclusive decision-making at transit agencies.

At IndyGo in Indianapolis, Jerome was a bridge between the agency and its riders. As Ridership Experience Specialist, he created new ways of communicating and reaching out to IndyGo riders at a time when the agency was embarking on major initiatives like the Red Line BRT. He launched the agency’s Transit Ambassador Program and spearheaded an overhaul of its wayfinding. Jerome has forged relationships throughout the industry via his work at IndyGo, as a member of APTA’s Emerging Leaders program, and as a contributor to the Transit Cooperative Research Program.

“We see the biggest improvements to transit when agency leadership is responsive to rider needs,” said TransitCenter Executive Director David Bragdon. “We’re thrilled to work with Jerome to support a generation of leaders who will bring transit forward by putting riders first.”

“Access to transportation means access to life’s opportunities — where you can go impacts who you can meet and what you can do,” said Director of Transit Leadership Development Jerome Horne. “I’m excited to make a positive difference in people’s lives, ensuring they can get to where they need and want to go.”
